Product Review |
Review:From 7-20-2010 there is a discount on GTX 470 card with a $ 50 discount AND a free Just Game. So this is a big theft because most stores sell THIS card for $ 369 or more, and it is by no means a closed version. Additionally, if you dispute this or the GTX480, you CAN spend $ 100 more on one GTX480 and get 2 of these cards. That’s a total of $ 600 470 SLI setup Vs $ 1000 480 SLI setup, for $ 100 more than 480 one! Finally, with due respect to those who say they do not see the difference between this card and the 8800 series card ……… REALLY ????? Then you guys should be playing ADULT games, because the new games (2008 and up) and “Big Game Drawings” have day and night differences. Whatever 2007 and before, it will make a small difference. But more than that, come. I had an 8800 series card so I know this from experience. Whatever you decide, enjoy and have fun !!!!! PerformanceOne card alone does very well in the 95% of games I have. The only thing that challenges this card is the “clear / open-world games”. These are games like Crysis, Metro 2033, Fallout 3 with mods/texture drawings, Grand Theft Auto 4, etc. BTW this card works well with Dirt2 in Maxed Dx11 settings. Now TWO of these cards in SLI, that’s the joy of pure click. I can currently run Crysis in Maxed out DX10 mode, full screen @ 1920 x 1080, with 16x Anti-Aliasing with 50+ frames per second. 2,480 but run it for 60ish. So depending on how many powerful games you have, you can pull it off with a 470 one. But if you have a rough game, 470 in SLI mode is the answer. Well, everyone’s favorite argument here is the heat. In my PERSONAL experience, this card is hot. However, the time I get on this card is exactly the same as the time I got with previous graphics cards (8800gs / HD4850 / Gtx 275). So personally, I think it’s blown up unevenly because 90% of “High Performance” cards produce a lot of heat, so that’s nothing new. And some games put a lot of pressure on this card. It depends on how much work you have to do, which goes back to those “Graphically Intense” games. My current experience with SLI cards is 87 degrees respectively. Remember that TWO cards work. One card will be smaller, but mostly I haven’t broken 87 and that plays for at least an hour. The end / old games didn’t “burn” too much. Otherwise, which is why you are registering for a lifetime warranty with EVGA, you will be covered. In the end, these cards are designed to last up to 100 degrees, so I promise you guys ….. it’ll be fine. |
